[root@localhost eric]# mkdosfs -r 16 -I /dev/fd0
mkdosfs 2.10 (22 Sep 2003)
/dev/fd0: Permission denied

Rats. Permission denied. And I'm root. Obviously God and RedHat are conspiring against me. Using the RedHat "mkbootdisk" command was a bad idea anyway. It's only available on RedHat and it only makes a "rescue disk". I want a "boot/root" disk that can do things. Real things. It's time to pitch proprietary RedHat into the dustbin and bring out generic Debian.
