Price for tourist goods quoted in US Dollars. Not because they see a lot of Americans, but because they see a lot of tourists. I never did figure that out. Most of the tourists seemed to be from other South American countries. And I assume most tourists (like me) can convert Chilean Pesos into their local currency in their head. How this helps someone from Argentina is beyond me. But I saw the same US price quotes in the airline office where nobody spoke English.
